The world’s largest online retailer Amazon is selling 114 e-books to every 100 printed ones in the UK.
According to Amazon, the owner of the e-reader Kindle, the real ratio will be more in favor of e-books, for the released figure did not compute copies downloaded by the Kindle owner.
Excited vice president of Kindle EU Jorrit Van der Meulen said: “As a result of the success of Kindle, we’re selling more books than ever before for authors and publishers.
“We hit this milestone in the United States less than four years after introducing Kindle, so to reach this landmark after just two years in the UK is remarkable. It shows how quickly UK readers are embracing Kindle,” added Meulen.
Kindle was launched in the UK in 2010. To have an Amazon’s Kindle users are to spend not more than £89 in the UK.
