Apple acquires security firm AuthenTec

Apple has bought biometrics and embedded security company AuthenTec for a deal of $365 million.

Although Apple holds the top position in the consumer mobile market, and this deal is supposed to work as a miracle for it to become a top player in the enterprise settings.

iOS 6 is also bringing Passbook, a digital wallet that Apple no doubt wants to ensure is secure as possible. AuthenTec’s expertise in mobile security is expected to assist the company attain its goals.
