A. P. J. Kalam on Facebook with his e-paper ‘Billion Beats’

Former Indian president A.P.J. Abdul Kalam has arrived on the most celebrated social networking site Facebook with his e-paper ‘Billion Beats.’

“We are happy to start the Facebook page (www.facebook. com/kalambillionbeats) for Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam’s e-paper initiative called billion beats,”  said V Ponraj, advisor to Kalam and Editor of Billion Beats.

The Indian scientist and administrator who served as the 11th President of India will share his thoughts and ideas on special issues concerning India’s development and will encourage the young people of the country blessed with unique ideas.

“On his Facebook page, Dr Kalam will share unique moments, his interaction with the unique people and achievers, share the success stories and celebrate the success of fellow Indians who contribute to the development of the nation,” said Ponraj.

“He will start writing every day on the page and will also encourage the youth who have unique innovative ideas, discuss his visits to various R&D organisations and institutions towards realizing the goal of developed India before 2020,” added Ponraj .

The former Indian President wrote about his meeting with Madam Madeleine de Blic of Volontariat in Puducherry in his first post last day. He wrote: ”Madeleine has saved thousands of lives in the last five decades. When I met her, I saw in her the service spirit of Mother Teresa and the compassion of Florence Nightingale. The people lovingly call her ‘Amma! Madaleine Amma!’, and these words of kindness radiate everywhere.”
