ZTE is taking necessary initiatives to launch a TD-LTE technology based smartphone this year. The Chinese multinational telecommunications equipment and Systems Company is making discussion with a number of operators including Softbank Corp, a Japanese telecommunications and Internet corporation, to launch the planned smartphone in time.
“Now is a very crucial stage for the development of LTE,” said Scott Wang, vice president of ZTE the world’s fourth-largest handset seller after Samsung Electronics Co Ltd, Nokia Oyj and Apple Inc. “We plan to roll out our TD handsets by the end of this year,” he told Reuters in an Interview.
ZTE Corp, the second largest telecommunications equipment manufacturer in China, sold more than 15 million handsets last year.
