The global Internet hacking group Anonymous which hacked into a number Chinese government websites a few days ago says it is planning to launch more attacks on Chinese government websites in a bid to unearth corruption.
A member of the group named “f0ws3r” told Reuters that “First we want to alert the Chinese government that we aren’t afraid, and we are going to show the truth and fight for justice.”
“Yes, we are planning more attacks, a few at a time,” said the hacker who declined to provide any personal information. They are planning to take down the “Great Firewall of China,” added the hacker.
Earlier on Thursday the country struggled to restore several government websites hacked by Anonymous. Anonymous said it hit around 500 Chinese sites as a protest against Chinese Internet restrictions.
“What you are doing today to your Great People, tomorrow will be inflicted to you. With no mercy,” added the online hacktivist group during the first attack.
