RIM has introduced new operating system for its BlackBerry PlayBook tablets. The new operating system (OS) has the ability to run Android-based applications.During the launch of new BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.2 in New Delhi on Friday, RIM’s Manager,India, Ranjan Moses, said,
“The BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0, now available as a free download, delivers an enhanced tablet experience and allows you to use the PlayBook in new ways throughout the day, at work and at play. It will add advanced messaging features, increased social integration and better browser, among other things.”
David J. Smith,Senior Vice-President, Mobile Computing, RIM said,
“Building on the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet’s proven web browsing, multimedia and multitasking strengths, the new BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0 introduces a range of new communications and productivity enhancements as well as expanded application and content support.”
