Iran is facing a major disruption on Internet today. Last week, people suffered serious disturbance in accessing email and social media sites amid concerns the authority is enlarging its inspection on common people.
A Tehran-based technology specialist said,
“Email, proxies and all the secure channels that start with ‘https’ are not available.
The situation regarding accessing these websites is even worse than last week because the VPNs (virtual private network) are not working,” said the man who refused to be recognized.
The country is getting ready to hold parliamentary elections on March 2. The Internet, more specially, social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter may help opposition party organize people.
